Lloyds: 2,415 Desks Refurbished and Resized

Coggin SOS refurbished and resized 2,415 desks for Lloyds Banking Group in 2024, working through its partner Insightful Environments. The desks came off sites across the UK and went back as new-standard workstations instead of being replaced.

The situation

What Lloyds needed

Lloyds was refreshing workspaces across the UK and wanted its existing furniture to count towards its ESG goals rather than go out with the fit-out. Insightful Environments, its workplace partner and a long-standing partner of ours, asked us for a route that kept the desks in use.

The desks were sound. What had changed was the floor plan, so many of them were the wrong size for the new layouts.

What we did

How the project ran

  1. Desks were removed from sites around the UK by the removals teams and transported to our facility in Lancashire.
  2. Each desk was stripped, resized to the new layout and refurbished to a new standard.
  3. Refurbished desks went back to the Lloyds sites in step with the project managers' programme.
  4. The figures for every desk were recorded item by item and reported to Insightful Environments.
The result

What it came to

A major bank kept its own desks in use and got workstations that fit the new layouts, at a fraction of the cost and carbon of new.
